The simplicity in her can be found in her kind of tied lip attitude which seemed to be too shy to respond to questions posed by SIMSA Nius Leta.
She’s a lace from North West Choiseul, particularly from the village of Moli.
Meet Margret Tagi, a 21 year old Radiographic student at FSMed.
Hails from a family of 5, she fought her way through the bundle of secondary years to finish 5 years at Choiseul Bay Secondary School after which luck got her way to settle her at the United Church owned school of Goldie college for a year.
Her form seven was a year of a life time spent at the hard-to-forget COM owned Selwyn College. “I still miss all the fun there”, said Miss Tagi when interviewed by SIMSA Nius Leta.
Coming to FSMed seemed to be an unplanned endeavor although she always thought that Fiji is safer than PNG.
“Everyone has this idea that PNG is better than Fiji academic wise, but I am okay so far having gone through the first lap of the year cos everything seems okay.”
She revealed that a struggle for her at the start was a way to get around being shy. “I think a struggle for me when first came here was trying to face up with the environment… I was so shy that I couldn’t able to cope,” said Miss Tagi.
But the enthusiastic radiographer is slowly coping, “ I’m kind of enjoying the ride as we go along.
She’s optimistic of finishing her three years here at FSMed. “Yeah mi set, bae traem,” said Tagi when inquired by SIMSA Nius Leta whether she’s in to finish her three years here.
The backing by the family seemed to be a great boost for the Choiseulise. “My family was very excited upon hearing my coming here.
So I think I’ll try my best.”
Tomorrow is going to be a tough challenge for the first year Tagi but she’s standing her ground, “ mi try study dis time for exam ya.”
